NAPIER FIELD. . .Kent Lewis Williams, a resident of Napier Field, died unexpectedly Monday morning, January 16, 2023, at his home. He was 59.

A private graveside service for the family will be held Thursday morning, January 19, 2023, in Memory Hill Cemetery in Dothan. Memorial services will follow at 1:30 P.M. Thursday at Wesley Place on Honeysuckle with Reverend Dwight Deal and Dan March officiating.  Holman-Headland Mortuary & Cremations is in charge of arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Wesley Place on Honeysuckle, 718 Honeysuckle Road, Dothan, AL 36305.

Kent Williams was a lifelong resident of Napier Field, son of the late Leonard M. “Doc” Williams and Bettie Joe Hagler Williams. He was a graduate of Dale County High School and attended Wallace Community College where he received a degree as a Registered Nurse. In earlier years, he was employed by Southeast Health as a Registered Nurse. Kent was currently employed by Wesley Place on Honeysuckle. He was a longtime member of the Napier Baptist Church and was later affiliated with Highland Park Methodist Church. An accomplished musician, Kent served as pianist and organist for several area churches and at Wesley Place on Honeysuckle. He also played at funerals and weddings and other special events.

Surviving relatives include a brother, Tim Williams (Lora), Greensburg, Indiana; a niece, Jessica Williams, a nephew, Tyler Williams, an Aunt, Mollie Ruth Marshall Cain, and cousins, Carolyn Bass (Donald), Martha Leger (Bill), and Billy Marshall (Nina); special friends, Sue Deese, Frank Deese and Tommy Deese.
