Lamar McNabb Jr., a father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on November 1, 2023, in Dothan, Alabama. Born on February 25, 1949, in Barbour County, Alabama, Lamar was a beacon of strength, intelligence, and faith, whose impact on those around him will forever be remembered.

In 2004, Lamar found love with Gloria Diedrick. Their union was a testament to the power of love and companionship. He was the father to Steven Smiley, Kevin McNabb, Lamar McNabb, III, and Rodrick McNabb.

Lamar was the cherished son of the late Lamar McNabb, Sr. and Flora Bell Parker. He was the loving brother to Michelle White and was preceded in death by his siblings, John McNabb, Theotis McNabb, and Willie White.

He had a deep love for documentaries and history, often using his knowledge to spark thoughtful conversations and debates. A man of numbers, Lamar also had a keen interest in numerology, finding beauty and meaning in the numerical patterns of life.

Lamar was a deeply religious man and was a devoted member of the Church of God by Faith in Ozark, Alabama. His faith was a guiding light throughout his life, providing him with strength and solace during challenging times. He was known for his quiet but profound spirituality, which touched everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.

A lover of life’s simple pleasures, Lamar found joy in the arts, good food, and fine wine. His infectious smile and gentle nature made him a joy to be around, and he was known for his thoughtful insights and warm hospitality. As Albert Einstein once said, "Only a life lived for others is a life worthwhile," a sentiment that Lamar embodied every day.
