Larry Gene Love, age 81, a resident of Dothan, passed away Sunday, June 4, 2023, at his residence.

Funeral services will be held 10:00 am, Wednesday, June 7, 2023 at Glover Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Josh Alderman officiating. Burial will follow at Love Hill Assembly of God Cemetery with Glover Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm, Tuesday at Glover Funeral Home Chapel.

Larry was born November 23, 1941, in Houston County to the late A.L. and Cleo Creel Love. He spent his life in Houston County and is a 1960 graduate of Cottonwood High School where he lettered four years in four sports.  He coached youth football, baseball and played men’s softball for several years.  Larry worked for Airgas South as the plant manager until his retirement. He was an avid fisherman and hunter, loved SEC football and girls softball.  Larry was Free Will Baptist by Faith.

He is preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Linda Love; daughter, Tammy Love (Jeina), Smyrna, GA, sons, Brett Love (Amanda), Dothan; Heath Love (Tammy), Headland; brothers, Jimmy Love Dothan, Charles Love, Ashford, Johnny Love (Elaine) Rehobeth; sister, Brenda Love  (Bernie Strauss), Henderson, NV; grandchildren, Houston Love (Kristin), Birmingham, Hunter Love (Kayla), Dothan, Mary-Katherine Love, Jack Rolen-Love, Charlie Rolen; great-grandchildren, Samuel Carter Love, Shephard Clifton Love, Easton Walker Love; several nieces and nephews also survive.

Active pallbearers will be: Cody Love, Clark Love, Todd Anderson, Michael Love, Tyler McClenny and Riley McClenny.

Honorary pallbearers will be his fishing buddies: Charles Love, Truman Meadows, Ralph Moore, Bobby Monday, Billy Wells, Ronnie Jackson, Sammy Roney, Troy Adams, Tracy Adams, Larry Henry and John Sanders.
