MIDLAND CITY… Mr. Larry Whitehead, a resident of Midland City, died early Thursday morning, November 15, 2018 in a Dothan hospital. He was 76.


            Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Monday, November 19, 2018 in the Earl Bankston Memorial Chapel with Reverend Cecil Condrey and Reverend Jarred Stanley officiating. Burial will follow in Midland City Cemetery. Fuqua-Bankston Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends from 3:00 until 5:00 P.M. Sunday at the funeral home.


            Mr. Whitehead, son of the late Reverend Roy Albert Whitehead and Beatrice Leger Whitehead, was a lifelong resident of Midland City. He was engaged in farming all of his lifetime. Mr. Whitehead was preceded in death by his son, Jimmy Ladon Whitehead; a sister, Virginia Burch and his former wife, Sylvia Whitehead.


            Surviving relatives include five children, Cynthia, Amy Beatrice, Eddie (LaDonna), Roy, and Jim (Irell); brothers and sisters, Onise Brackin (O.D.), Wicksburg; Ann Henderson (Lamar), Eufaula; Jerry Whitehead (Brenda), Blakely, GA; Eugene Whitehead (Dora), Ozark; Billy Whitehead, Grimes and Luedell Bryant, Dothan; Edward Whitehead (Judy), Jackey Whitehead (Debbie), and Joyce Chandler (Delbert), all of Midland City; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives also survive.


            Serving as active pallbearers will be Bert Chandler, Leroy Whitehead, Jerome Miller, Jason Whitehead, Tobert Stone and Johnny Burch.
