Laura Mae Gillman Baxley of Leonia, FL passed away on Sunday, September3, 2023 at her home. She was 92 years old.

 Graveside services will be held at 9:00 a.m. on Friday, September 8,2023 at Leonia Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Rodd Jones officiating and Warren Holloway Ward Funeral Home of Geneva directing.

 In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Leonia Cemetery fund at Leonia Baptist Church, 1124 Gillman Road, Westville, FL 32464 or Emerald Coast Hospice, Chipley, FL.

 Mrs. Baxley was born August 14, 1931 in Ponce de Leon, FL. She enjoyed gardening, knitting, and catching up with family and friends on the back porch, but her greatest joy in life was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

 She was preceded in death by her husband, W.T. Baxley, with whom she spent 71 years; her parents, Melvin and Letha Gillman and brother, Millard Gillman.

 She is survived by one son, Melvin Gordon Baxley and wife Janet; one daughter, Linda Gail Brooks all of Leonia, FL; eight grandchildren, Ty Clark, Paula Clark, Daniel Clark, Letha Hinote, Caleb Baxley, Jessica Ealum, David Michael Brooks, and Wendy Carroll; 14 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Patty Lou (Marvin) and one sister-in-law, Sue.
