HEADLAND. . .Lawrence Carter, a resident of Henry County, between Headland & Abbeville, died Monday morning, August 10, 2020, at his home. He was 81.

     Graveside services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, August 12, 2020, in the Haleburg Cemetery with Reverend Don Adams officiating. Holman-Headland Mortuary & Cremations is in charge of arrangements.

     In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Judson Baptist Association “Food Ministry”, 532 Ozark Road, Abbeville, AL 36310.

     Mr. Carter was a lifelong resident of Henry County, son of the late Walker L. Carter and Alma Barnes Carter. He was a 1958 graduate of the Newville High School. Mr. Carter served his country in the U. S. Air Force. He was a member of the Oakey Grove Baptist Church. Mr. Carter retired as an Airframe Power Plant Mechanic at Ft. Rucker. Mr. Carter was preceded in death by his wife, Irell Johnson Carter, five brothers and a sister.

     Surviving relatives include a daughter, Dixie Carter Money (Robin), Byron, GA;  a son, Dr. Mark Carter (Sandy), Pelham, AL; two sisters, Ann Williams, Camp Springs Community, and Marilyn Money, Wills Crossroads Community; seven grandchildren, Joshua Money, Joseph Money (Kristen), John David Money (Imen), Bethany Carter, Anna Carter, John Mark Carter (Keilah), and Jared Ben Carter; two great-grandchildren, Carter Money and Kara Lynn Money; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law from the Johnson family, Eleanor Moring and Janice Jones (Nathan), and Arthur Johnson.
