Lawrence (Jimmy) E. Rosser 81, Oak Grove,KY., originally from Newton, Alabama died on Saturday, November 19, 2011 at 10:30a.m., at Gateway Medical Center following a brief illness. Funeral services were held at 10:00A.M., Tuesday, November 22, 2011 at Hughart & Beard Funeral Home in Hopkinsville. Burial followed in Kentucky Veterans Cemetery West with full military honors. Visitation was from 4:00 P.M. until 8P.M. on Monday evening at Hughart and Beard Funeral Home.

Jimmy was born in Sterling, Illinois on July 26, 1930 the son of the late James Marcus Rosser and Esther Atkinson Rosser of Newton Alabama where he was raised and graduated from High School. Mr. Rosser retired from the U.S. Army after 22 years of service. He attained the rank of Sgt. First Class and served in the Vietnam War and in Korea. Following his retirement from the army he worked 26 years as an Electrician for Hillcrest Mobile Homes. He served on the Oak Grove City Council for 20 years where he was the Planning and Zoning representative. He had also been active with the Lions Club and was a Mason.

He was predeceased by his first wife Eleanor B Rosser of Germany and his brother Rev. Marcus Hugh Rosser of Newton Alabama.

Survivors include his wife; Zeda Rosser, Oak Grove, KY. Two sons; Patrick Michael Rosser of Newton Alabama and Timothy Lawrence Rosser, Oak Grove, KY. A daughter, Amanda Rosser Armstrong, Oak Grove, KY. Three Sisters; Patricia Rosser Johnson, Newton, Al., Carolyn Rosser Borland, Pinkard, Al., and Mary Virginia Showalter and her husband Don, of Dothan, Al. and several nieces and nephews.
