Leon (Man) Fuller, 87, of Level Plains, changed his residency on the morning of June 11, 2021.  He arrived safely to his Heavenly home and is now resting pain-free in the arms of Jesus.


Funeral services will be held at 3:00 P.M., Sunday, June 13, 2021 at First Baptist Church of Level Plains with Rev. Mike Foreman and David Layton officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 1:30 P.M. until service time.


Mr. Fuller was employed with the maintenance contractor at Fort Rucker, AL for 42 years.


He was known by many as the “watermelon man”, selling his prize winning watermelons on the corner in Level Plains.  Watermelons and cantaloupe were sold on the honor system-pick a watermelon, put your money in the box and make your own change.


He was preceded in death by his parents, Ara and Frank Fuller; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Bernice and Jim Frank Waters; a grandson, Andrew Joel “A.J.” Jackson; a brother, Harvey and two sisters, Carol and Nina.


Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Patricia Waters Fuller, Level Plains, AL; two daughters, Susie Strickland (Mike) Level Plains, AL; Laura Jackson, Enterprise, AL; a son, Lee Fuller (Sheila) Madison, AL; 10 grandchildren, Amy Griffin (Garrett) , Level Plains, AL; Michael Strickland, Level Plains, AL; Rebecca Strickland, Level Plains, AL; April Jackson Yancey, Gainesville, FL; Jonathan Fuller (Bree) Madison, AL; Robby Fuller, Madison, AL; Anna Fuller, Madison, AL; 3 great-grandchildren, Ben Griffin, Birmingham, AL; John Michael Griffin, Panama City Beach, FL; Emmalee Yancey, Gainesville, FL; two sisters, Clara and Linda; a brother, Don;  numerous nieces and nephews.


The family extends a special thank you to Dayspring Hospice and Candice and Kevin Streeter for the love and care shown to them.
