MIDLAND CITY. . . Lewis Daniel “Dan” Long, a resident of Dale County, between Midland City and the Echo Community, died Saturday night, November 19, 2022, at his home. He was 72.

Memorial graveside services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Wednesday, November 23, 2022 in the Christian Hill Cemetery with the Reverend Tim Sewell officiating. Holman-Headland Mortuary & Cremations is in charge of arrangements.

Dan Long was a lifelong resident of the Christian Hill Community of Dale County, son of the late Cecil Neil Long and Joyce Sewell Long. He was a 1968 graduate of Dale County High School. Dan served his country in the Army Reserve in the Abbeville unit. He was a retired employee of Ansell, Inc. of Dothan. Dan was preceded in death by a sister, Betty Jo Long.

Surviving relatives include two sisters, Loretta Long, Dothan; and Melissa Lunsford, Midland City; two brothers, Cecil Long (Evelyn), Athens, AL; and Victor Long (Cindy), Midland City; aunts, Alice Sewell and Martha Long; several nieces and nephews, numerous cousins.
