Linda Gayle Davis, 73, of Dothan, passed away on Wednesday, February 5, 2020 at Southeast Hospital. She was born on August 2, 1946 in Geneva County to the late John Wesley Simmons and Genella (Harris) Simmons.


Funeral Services will take place 2 PM, Saturday, February 8, 2020 at Ward Wilson Funeral Home with visitation one hour prior to service, burial to follow at Memory Hill Cemetery.


Gayle was a loving mother, sister, and grandmother who will be greatly missed by all. She deeply loved her family and enjoyed cooking for them, especially spaghetti. She authored 3000 poems,loved babies, visiting with family and friends.


In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband: Robert Lowell Davis; sisters: Dean Riley, Christine Faulk, Miriam Simmons, and Betty Phillips; brothers; Delma, Gerald, Russell, Gene, Johnnie, and Fonza Simmons; son-in-law: David Wayne Wells, and grandson: Noah Michael Lee.


Survivors include her children: Deborah (Alan) Lee, Robin (Richard) Eckert, Chris (Lisa) Davis, Cliff Davis, Marcus (Suzanne) Davis, and Clarke Davis; brother: Jerry Simmons; sisters: Patricia Cobb, Virginia Buttram, Sherrell Russell, Sue Hutto, Net Simmons, and Linda Davis, grandchildren: Ethan Lee, Ryan, Evan ,Maggie, Ashley, Annalisa, Eric, Lane, and Emily Davis and many nieces, nephews, friends and neighbors.



Flowers accepted or memorial contribution can be made to American Diabetes Association.
