ASHFORD. . .Linda Pittman Hughes, a resident of Ashford, died Saturday morning, February 17, 2018, in Noland Hospital. She was 69.


            Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Monday, February 19, 2018, in the Cedar Springs Baptist Church, near Ashford, with Reverend William Irwin officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Holman-Headland Mortuary & Cremations is in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends from 10:00 until 11:00 A.M. Monday in the church sanctuary.


            Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to the Cedar Springs Baptist Church, c/o John W. King, 974 Jack Bruner Road, Ashford, AL 36312.


            Mrs. Hughes was born and reared in Blakely, Georgia, but moved to the Cedar Springs Community as a young adult. She was a member of the Cedar Springs Baptist Church. Mrs. Hughes was engaged in farming with her husband most of her lifetime. She was preceded in death by her father, Eugene H. Pittman, her mother, Elizabeth Mills Oakley and a son, Michael Windell Hughes.


            Surviving relatives include her husband, Reginald W. (Buddy) Hughes; a daughter, Tammy Hughes Windham (Terry), Echo Community; a son, Brian Hughes (Brandy), Webb, AL; four grandchildren, Blake Windham, Brooke Windham, Brody Hughes, and Bryson Hughes; two sisters, Emily Cleveland (Junior), and Grace Causey (Gene), all of Blakely; two brothers, Russell Pittman (Myrtle), Blakely; and David Pittman (Cindy), Midland City; several nieces and nephews.
