Lorita Brown Scurlock Lorita Brown Scurlock, age 87 of Graceville died Sunday evening, December 30, 2018 at Signature Health Care in Graceville. Funeral services for Mrs. Scurlock will be held at 11AM Saturday, January 5, 2019 at New Hope Assembly of God Church with Reverend Vince Spencer officiating. Burial will follow in the Pilgrim Rest Cemetery with Family First Funeral & Cremation Care directing. The family will receive friends from 10AM until service time at the church. Mrs. Scurlock was born July 1, 1931 in Graceville, Florida to the late Jonathan H. and Emma L. Brown. At the age of 16 she married Wiley Milton Scurlock and moved to Cottondale, FL where she assisted her husband on the family farm. In her spare time Mrs. Scurlock enjoyed quilting, sewing, embroidery work and most of all fishing. She was a longtime member of New Hope Assembly of God Church. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Wiley Milton Scurlock; a son, John Milton Scurlock; two brothers and three sisters. Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Ouida and Glenn Johnson of Cottondale and Tina and Stafford Turner of Chattanooga, TN; a sister, Louise Shouppe of Graceville and a sister-in-law, Merell Scurlock of Cottondale. Five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren also survive as well as several nieces and nephews.
