LOYD  CLYDE  ADKINSON

COLUMBIA. . .Loyd Clyde (Pete) Adkinson, a resident of Columbia, died early Sunday morning, June 17, 2012, in the Wesley Manor Retirement Center in Dothan. He was 68.

            Graveside services will be held at 10:30 A.M. Tuesday, June 19, 2012, in the Ebenezer Baptist Church Cemetery with Reverend Don Tew officiating.  Holman-Headland Mortuary is in charge of funeral arrangements. The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M. Monday at the mortuary in Headland.

            Mr. Adkinson was a native of Texasville, son of the late Clyde Adkinson and Irma Jewell McLain Adkinson. He moved to Columbia in 1968 where he was a member of the Ebenezer Baptist Church. Mr. Adkinson was formerly employed by Smith’s Auto Parts in Columbia and Spann Alignment and Brake Service in Dothan. He was preceded in death by a sister, Betty Hand and a brother, Dan Adkinson.

            Surviving relatives include his wife, Phyllis Harrison Adkinson, Columbia; five brothers, Floyd Adkinson, Texas; Jimmy Adkinson (Debra), Dothan; Robert Adkinson (Debbie), Cottonwood; Bobby Adkinson (Vanessa) Taylor, AL; and Tim Adkinson, Dothan; a special grandson, Adam Adkinson; several nieces and nephews.
