Lucia Kathryn Driggers, a resident of Dothan, died peacefully at her home on Thursday, November 10, 2022 at the age of 98.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, November 19, 2022 at First Baptist Church of Dothan with Rev. Taylor Rutland officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Hill Cemetery with Glover Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends at the church from 1:00 until 1:45 pm on Saturday prior to service time.
Mrs. Driggers was born May 8, 1924 in Wicksburg to Grady and Kathryn King and lived the early years of her life there. She was a graduate of Wicksburg High School and later attended Montevallo College. She was active in the Dothan Service League, Baptist WMU, Garden Clubs and taught flower arranging at Wallace Community College. She was a tree farmer, an avid gardener and a great cook. At the age of 92, she researched and co-authored Settlers, Families and History of Wicksburg, Alabama. Mrs. Driggers was a lifetime member of First Baptist Church and was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.
She is predeceased by her parents, her husband of 70 years, Ed Driggers and a son, Kenneth Driggers.
She is survived by her daughter, Marcia Weber (Kim) of Wetumpka; grandsons, Michael Driggers (Kristi), Keith Weber (Jenna) and Clark Weber (Vanessa); great-grandchildren, Amanda Driggers, Shawn Weber and Rosemary Weber; sister-in-law, JoAnn Frazier; daughter-in-law, Joan Driggers; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends and special caregivers, Cathy Mathis and Jeanie Hardwick.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to First Baptist Church of Dothan, 300 W. Main Street, Dothan, AL 36301.
