Lute Thomas Renshaw, Jr.

Lute Thomas Renshaw, Jr., known affectionately to friends and family as Tom, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family of natural causes on November 18, 2023, in Dothan, Alabama. Born on July 21, 1947, in Texas, Lute lived a life full of adventure, kindness, and selflessness, leaving a lasting impact on everyone he met.

Tom was preceded in death by his parents, Lute Thomas Renshaw, Sr. and Margaret Ann Renshaw; his devoted wife of many years, Susan JoAnn Renshaw; and by his daughter, Sarah Louise Renshaw. He is survived by his children, Tom Renshaw (Sabrina), Rebecca Ann Brooks, and John Samuel Renshaw (Nafiisah). He was a beloved grandfather to Kyle Brooks, Sara Brooks, Lucius Renshaw, Margaret Lee Renshaw, Abigail Grace Renshaw, and Catalina Susanna Renshaw.

Tom was an alumnus of Washington State University, where he earned his Bachelor's degree in Athletic Training. His passion for sports and fitness was not only reflected in his academic pursuits but also in his personal life. He was a dedicated coach for children's sports teams, instilling in them the values of teamwork, discipline, and perseverance.

Tom was a proud Navy Veteran of the Vietnam War, where he served with the "World Watchers". His service to his country didn't end there, as he was also deployed to the Gulf War. His dedication to his country was unwavering, and his experiences shaped him into the resilient and compassionate man he was known to be.

After his military service, Lute had a successful career at Boeing. His work ethic and commitment to excellence were admired by his colleagues and set a high standard for those who worked alongside him.

Tom was a man of many interests, but above all, he was a devoted family man. He cherished the time spent with his loved ones, always making sure they knew how much they meant to him. He was a pillar of strength for his family, providing them with love, guidance, and support. In remembering Tom, we celebrate a life lived to the fullest. His adventurous spirit, kind heart, and selfless nature touched many lives. His legacy will live on in the hearts of his family, his friends, and all those whose lives he touched. Lute Thomas Renshaw, Jr., your journey on earth may have ended, but your spirit continues to inspire and guide us. You will be deeply missed, but forever remembered.
