Obituary: Marcus Neal Fleming, Jr. 

Marcus Neal Fleming, Jr. passed away Tuesday, December 10, 2019. He was 18. 

Funeral services will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, December 13, 2019 in the chapel of Sorrells Funeral Home in Slocomb with Rev. Anthony Long officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 p.m. until service time.

 A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 14, 2019 at Prattville Memorial Gardens, 841 Fairview Avenue, Prattville, AL 36066.

Marcus was born January 10, 2001 in Beaufort, SC. Marcus was a 2019 graduate of Slocomb High School and enjoyed playing football, sang in the SHS Choir and participated in drama.  He enjoyed being outdoors, and played numerous sports throughout his life. He worked on the farm and was into automobiles. Marcus was very family oriented, very respectful, and affectionate. His smile would light up a room. He loved entertaining people, always put others first, encouraging to his friends and others, and had a love for shoes and his hair. Marcus was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. 

He was preceded in death by his cousin and best friend, DJ. 

Survivors include his mother, Shay Jones; his father, Marcus Fleming (Rebecca Fleming); three sisters: Tiffany Cruz, Erika Miller, and Edith Fleming; two brothers: Garret and Elijah Fleming; a niece, Emma Cruz; his girlfriend, Amara Myles; other extended family and friends.
