Margaret Virginia Hendrix Blalock of Samson, AL passed away on Thursday, January 19, 2023. She was 83 years old.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 22, 2023 at Samson First Baptist Church with Rev. Danny Branch and Rev. Sam Totten officiating. Burial will follow in the Pleasant Home Freewill Baptist Church Cemetery with Warren Holloway Ward Funeral Home of Geneva, AL directing. The family will receive friends at the church on Sunday beginning at 1:00 p.m.

Margaret was born in Geneva County, AL on May 23, 1939 to the late William Eli and Alma Cotton Hendrix. She was a devoted mother, and grandmother who loved her family dearly and took great pride in helping raise her grandchildren. She loved the Lord and was a devoted and faithful member of Samson First Baptist Church for many years.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Billy G. Blalock; infant grandson, Samuel Eli Blalock; son-in-law, Fred McCall; brother, Willard Hendrix; and one sister, Jo Faye Battles.

She is survived by one son, William A. Blalock (Jane); one daughter, Deborah McCall all of Samson, AL; four granddaughters, Sarah Wise (Chris), Hannah Blalock, Jessa & Christa McCall all of Samson, AL; one great granddaughter, Margaret Katherine Wise of Samson, AL; one brother, Rex Hendrix (Becky) of Daleville, AL; and one sister-in-law, Thelma Hendrix of Hartford, AL.    

Pallbearers will be Aubrey Battles, Kevin Battles, Terry Battles, Walt Blount, Danny Hendrix, and Robert Hendrix.
