Marjorie “Margie” Walden Dean, 88, passed away on Wednesday, April 1, 2020.


There will be a celebration of life held at a later date. If desired, memorial contributions can be made to the Leukemia Society.


Mrs. Dean was a resident of Extendicare Health and Rehabilitation Center in Dothan and a member of the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. Margie’s talents were many, among them she was an extremely accomplished cook and homemaker, a beloved grandmother, wife and mother.


She is preceded in death by her husband, Richard Clayton; parents, James and Abby Walden; grandson, Lawrence “Lance” Christian Woodard; three brothers, Jack, Rayford and James Jr.; and sister, Beatrice Garner.


Margie is survived by her daughter, Linda (Bill) McKinley; her son, Richard “Ricky” and his wife, Elizabeth; granddaughter, Abby Elizabeth; sister, Catherine Nicholson; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.


The family wishes to express their thanks for the wonderful environment provided by Extendicare. Margie was recently chosen “Miss Extendicare” and the honor thrilled her. The family especially thanks Lakesia Reaves for her kindness to their mother.
