Mark Twain Clemmons of the Izagora Community, Bonifay, Florida went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, November 26, 2022 following an illness. He was 80 years old.


Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 30, 2022 at Izagora Congregational Methodist Church, Bonifay, Florida with Rev. Greg Thomas, and Rev. Franklin D. Penny officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Warren Holloway Ward Funeral Home of Geneva, AL directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, November 29, 2022 from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m.


Mark was born on December 4, 1941 in Holmes County, Florida. He graduated from Bethlehem High School in 1959. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, and papa. After graduation he joined the US Navy and served four years. While on duty he had the honor of being on the USS Saratoga. The remainder of his employment was spent as an aircraft mechanic from 1966 until 2006 at Fort Rucker, AL.


He was preceded in death by his parents, Adolph and Verlon Clemmons; brother, Charles “Chuck” Clemmons; and his wife of 45 years, Margie Clemmons.


Mark is survived by his sons, Tony (Renee) Clemmons of Geneva, AL, Terry Clemmons and Dennis Clemmons, both of Bonifay, FL; grandchildren, Alyssa Clemmons, Brandy (Jonathan) Norman, Brady and Colby Clemmons; great-grandchildren, Hank and Wrenley Norman; one brother, Archie (Deborah) Clemmons of Milton, FL.


The family would like to express their gratitude to Flowers Hospital, 3rd floor, MICU, Noland Hospital, and Bonifay Nursing Home.     


Flowers will be accepted, or donations may be made to Izagora Congregational Methodist Church.


Serving as pallbearers will be: Randy Thomas, Jeff Clemmons, Greg Clemmons, Shannon Clemmons, Eddie Applegate, and Chris Epley.


Mr. Clemmons spent his time restoring and enjoying classic automobiles and sharing this with his children.
