Mrs. Martha Barner of Slocomb passed away Saturday, November 5, 2011 at Flowers Hospital. She was 78. 

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Monday, November 7, 2011 from Sorrells Funeral Home Chapel in Slocomb with Rev. Al Leach officiating. Burial will follow in Slocomb City Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday beginning at 2:00 and continue until service time. 

Martha was born on January 2, 1933 in Geneva County to the late Marvin and Eva Trawick Culverhouse. She was a member of the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. Her husband Walt Barner and sister; Sally Culverhouse Watkins preceded her in death. 

Survivors include one daughter: Jan Barner Butler, one son: Glenn (Birdie) Barner, both of Slocomb, Al; one grandson: Jeffrey Gilley of Wicksburg, Al.
