Martha Jean Churchwell Stafford from Samson, Alabama passed away Tuesday, November17, 2020 at the age of 75.

 Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, November 20, 2020 in the Chapel of Warren Holloway Ward Funeral with the Rev. officiating. Burial will follow in the Travelers Rest Cemetery in Samson, Alabama.  The family will receive friends Friday from. 1:00 p.m. until service time.

 Martha was born December 20, 1944 in Geneva County Alabama to the late Governor Oaks and Minnie Lou Parrish Churchwell. She worked very hard throughout her life and always helped others when she could. She enjoyed fishing and going to the casinos and cherished her grandchildren very much.

 She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Glen, Ernest and Cecil Churchwell and sisters, Ruby Churchwell, Myrtle Lou McDougald and Voncille Pittman.

 She is survived by her son, Chris Stafford (Wilma) of Dothan, AL, grandchildren: Christopher James Stafford of Orlando, FL, Michelle Mae Stafford of Dothan, AL, one sister, Sylvia Rogers (Allen) of Houston, TX and one brother, Kenneth Churchwell (Beverly) of Cleveland, TN and a number of special nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank her caregivers, Tawanda and Dale, for their devoted love shown to Martha.
