Mrs. Martha Jean (Hatcher) Phillips, age 66, a resident of Ashford, died early Monday, February 12, 2024, at Southeast Health.


Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Friday, February 16, 2024, at the Glover Funeral Home Chapel with Chaplain Kevin Brannon officiating and Glover Funeral Home directing. The family will be receiving friends from 2 p.m. until 2:45 p.m. Friday prior to services at the funeral home. 


Flowers will be accepted.


Mrs. Phillips was born on December 14, 1957, in Donalsonville, Georgia the daughter of Henry Brady Hatcher and Lucille Oddis Douglas Hatcher.  She has lived most of her life in Houston County.  Martha worked at Wex-Tex in Ashford, EZ Serve in Cottonwood, as a cab driver with Triple-A and Tri-State, a sales associate in area convenience stores; she has been disabled since 2002.  She was of Baptist faith.


She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Leonard Dennis Phillips, and a brother, Ronnie Hatcher.


Survivors include a son, Henry Bruce Railey, Ashford; a daughter, Lucinda Marie Dewees (Thomas), Florala; sister, Teressa Ann Williams (Donald), Dothan; brother, Terry Allen Hatcher, Pansey; sister-in-law, Rhonda Hatcher, Ashford; 3 grandchildren, Katelynn, Jace and Abigail Dewees, all of Florala; her 2 fur grandbabies Buddy and Sadie; several nieces and nephews
