MARTHA VIRGINIA CUNNINGHAM

MIDLAND CITY, AL…  Martha Virginia Cunningham, a resident of Midland City, Alabama, passed away Tuesday, August 1, 2023, at her home. She was 86.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M. Friday August 04, 2023, at Wright Funeral Home & Crematory Chapel with Reverend Wendall Holmes officiating. Burial will follow in the Midland City Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Wright Funeral Home & Crematory is in charge of the arrangements.

Mrs. Cunningham was born in Mt. Pleasant, Florida, to the late John Jenkins and Rosie Nell Walding Jenkins. She lived in the Sylvan Grove Community of Dale County and attended Midland City High School. She was a bus driver for several years. She enjoyed many hobbies such as gardening, baking, listening to gospel music and reading her Bible. She loved seafood, especially catfish. She was a member of True Light Church in Midland City.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband James Cunningham; her sister, Linda Jenkins; her brothers, Dan Jenkins, James Jenkins, and Bobby Jenkins: and her grandson, James William Glover.

Leaving to cherish her memories are her daughters, Vickie Adkins (Terry) and Wanda McLendon (Craig Jarrett); her sons, Tim Cunningham, Tony Cunningham (Toni), Terry Cunningham (Sharon), Sam Cunningham (Ann), Dwight Cunningham (Katie); her sisters, Billie Ann Senn, Sonya Senn (Mack), Debra Kowal (Jeffrey); her brothers, David Jenkins (Karen) and Mitchell Jenkins (Loretta) her sister-in-law, Margaret Jenkins; ; her sixteen grandchildren; her thirty-three great-grandchildren; a special cousin, Mary German; a special care-taker and friend, Aletha Skonitzki; her several other nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
