Mrs. Mary Alice Hatcher Newsome of Geneva Alabama, passed away on Saturday June 10, 2023. She was 84. 

 Funeral services will be held at 3:00 pm, Monday, June 12, 2023 in the chapel of Warren Holloway Ward Funeral Home Chapel in Geneva, AL with Rev. Johnny Shepard officiating.  Burial will follow in Highfalls Assembly of God Church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2 p.m. until service time.

 Mrs. Newsome was born in Geneva County, AL on November 11,1938 to the late Allen Carthell and Cora Mae Thompson Hatcher. She was a loving and devoted mother and grandmother who enjoyed spending quality time with her family. She was an avid flower gardener and a very accomplished seamstress. She attended Highfalls Assembly of God for a number of years.  

 In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Newsome; son-in-law, Joe Jordan; two sisters, Willie Mae Miller and Betty Sue Hatcher.

 Mrs. Newsome is survived by her loving daughter, Angie Jordan of Geneva, AL; two grandchildren, Velvet Stalnaker (Daniel) of Geneva, AL and Valerie Ealum (Larry) of Hartford, AL; six great grandchildren, Breanna Brock (Justin) of Hartford, AL, Kasadie Stalnaker (Mike Crowley) and Joseph Stalnaker, all of Geneva, AL; Kaitlyn Branning (Shelton) of Slocomb, AL, Jillian Ealum of Hartford, AL and Lexi Ealum (Mason McIntosh) of Enterprise, AL; ten great-great grandchildren, Braxton and Bentley Rodgers, Jackson and Delilah Brock, Tobias Stalnaker, Emmie and Ella Branning, Holden and Kaleb Crowley and Brody Rodgers; one brother, Carthell Hatcher (Peggy) of Hartford, AL; a number of special nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.

 Serving as active pallbearers will be Daniel Stalnaker, Larry Ealum, Justin Brock, Brandon Rodgers, Shelton Branning and Mike Crowley.

 Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Joseph and Tobias Stalnaker, Holden and Kaleb Crowley, Braxton, Bentley and Brody Rodgers and Jackson Brock.
