Mary Boatman Churchwell, a resident of Dothan, died Friday, January 8, 2021 at her residence.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday, January 11, 2021 at Memphis Baptist Church with Reverend Rick Glenn and Reverend Billy Rich officiating. Burial will follow in Memphis Baptist Church Cemetery with Glover Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends at the church from 10:00 until 10:45 a.m. on Monday prior to service time. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Memphis Baptist Church, “Youth Program”, 4595 Eddins Road, Dothan, Alabama, 36301.

Mary was born January 7, 1937 in Knoxville Tennessee and lived the early years of her life there. She was employed with General Electric for 25 years prior to her retirement. She also worked with AAA Cooper part time and met her husband Ron while working there. In 1994, she married Ron and moved to Dothan. She also resided in South Carolina and Florida but always called Dothan her home. Mary enjoyed playing the piano and loved playing solitaire. She was a member of Memphis Baptist Church since 2006 where she sang in the senior choir.

She is predeceased by her parents and a sister.

Survivors include her husband of 26 years, Ronald Churchwell of Dothan; three children, Jennifer Steiner of Morristown, Tennessee, Donna Mayes of Charleston, South Carolina and Robert Mayes of Greenville, South Carolina; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

Active pallbearers will be Melvin White, Warren Abraham, Tom Roney, Steve Devine, Shelby Womack and Rob Holoman.
