SHORTERVILLE. . .Mary Charles Day Money, a resident of Shorterville, died early Friday evening, February 10, 2023, at her home. She was 85.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Sunday, February 12, 2023, in the Holman-Abbeville Mortuary Chapel with Reverend Mickey Skinner and Chaplain Kathy Stumbaugh officiating. Burial will follow in the Abbeville Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 P.M. Sunday at the mortuary.

Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to SouthernCare Hospice, 2576 Montgomery Highway, Suite 2, Dothan, AL 36303.

Mrs. Money was born and reared in Baker Hill, Alabama, daughter of the late Charlie Day and Mary Alice Stanley Day. She lived near Shorterville most of her adult lifetime. Mrs. Money was of the Methodist faith and attended Lakeside Christian Fellowship. She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Wesley Money, Jr., a daughter, Jane Davis, and three brothers, Stanley Day, Johnny Mack Day and Charlie Day, Jr.

Surviving relatives include three daughters, Debbie Thompson and Carolyn Tye (Mark), all of Abbeville; and Marilyn Woodham, who was also her caregiver, of Shorterville; three sisters, Beverly Drury (Doug), Vineyard, Utah; Vickie Combee (Eddie), and Jeannetta Beasley, all of Abbeville; grandchildren, Joseph Davis, Brittany Killingsworth (Brad), Haley Vaught (Andy), Jameson Cook, John Mark Tye, Emily Tye, Anna Tye, Ally Tye and Logan Key; great-grandchildren, Blair Killingsworth, Greer Killingsworth,  Mackenzie Killingsworth, Madilyn Hopper and Raelyn Vaught; several nieces and nephews.  

Serving as active pallbearers will be Robbie Culp, Larry “Bo” Beasley, John Mark Tye, Jameson Cook, Tyler Barron and Andy Johns.

The family would like to express their appreciation to caregiver, Mary Ann Condrey and also SouthernCare Hospice for the loving care and kindness shown Mrs. Money during her illness.
