Mary Evelyn Harden Lewis, 93, a resident of Dothan, died Friday, May 1, 2020 following an extended illness.


Graveside funeral services for the family will be held  10:00 a.m. Monday, May 4, 2020 at Harper’s Joy Assembly of God Church Cemetery with Rev. Jerry Harden officiating and Glover Funeral Home directing.


Mrs. Lewis was born June 6, 1926 to Reese Samson and Myrtle Dasinger Harden and lived all of her life in Houston County. She was a homemaker and a member of Harper’s Joy Assembly of God Church.


In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her  husband, Willie D. Lewis, a daughter, Martha Charlene Hallford, a sister, Loraine Harden and three brothers, George Harden, Ben Harden and Elbert Harden.


Survivors include her son, Jimmy W. Lewis (Faye) of Dothan; four brothers, Billy Joe Harden (Merle) of Dothan, Charles Harden (Betty) of Cowarts, Robert Harden (Sue) of Slocomb and Rev. Jerry Harden (Robbie) of Slocomb and Elbert Lewis; three sisters, Evelene Sizemore, Sybil Dixon and Linda Floyd (Robert), all of Dothan; three grandchildren, Jessica Meadows (Chris) of Cottonwood, John Lewis (Brittney) of Dothan and Jennifer Stewart (Troy) of Tampa, Florida; five great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews also survive.
