NEWVILLE…Mary Ezzell Trawick, a resident of Newville, died early Sunday morning, May 5, 2019, at her home. She was 89.


            Funeral services will be held at 4:00 P.M. Monday, May 6, 2019, in the Old Center United Methodist Church, near Newville, with Reverend Ron Ball and Reverend Anita Brown officiating. Graveside services will follow in the church cemetery with Reverend Justin Aultman officiating. Holman-Abbeville Mortuary & Cremations is in charge of the arrangements. The family will receive friends from 2:30 until 4:00 P.M. Monday in the church sanctuary.


            Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to Old Center United Methodist Church, c/o Nancy Woods, 1169 County Road 89, Newville, AL 36353.


            Mrs. Trawick was born in Shorterville and reared in Abbeville, daughter of the late Robert Oscar Ezzell and Claudia Wood Ezzell. She was a 1947 graduate of Abbeville High School and lived in the Center Community of Henry County all of her adult life. Mrs. Trawick retired as the Co-Owner of Trawick Ace Hardware in Abbeville. She was a member of the Old Center United Methodist Church. Mrs. Trawick was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Wilson Trawick, Sr., two sisters, Ollie Killebrew and Susie Atta, six brothers, Marlin Ezzell, Louie Ezzell, Howard Ezzell, Oscar Ezzell, Charles Ezzell and John Ezzell.


            Surviving relatives include four daughters, Sharon Trawick, Samson;  Susan Trawick Reynolds (Henry), Abbeville, Starla Trawick Alexander (Jay), Bertha Community, Rosemary Trawick Murphy (Mike), Abbeville; a son, Charles Wilson (Chuck) Trawick, Jr. (Lisa), Newville; a sister, Rose Mobley, Shorterville; three sisters-in-law, Ann Trawick, Annette Trawick and Charlotte Ball (Rev. Ron Ball); a brother-in-law, Wayne Trawick (Joan); thirteen grandchildren, Adam Alexander, Ben Alexander (Crystal), Angie Alexander (Janie Creech), Emile Reynolds, Elizabeth Reynolds Daughtry (Michael), Robert Reynolds, Jordan Alexander, Amanda Trawick Aultman (Justin), Claudia Trawick, Eliza Jane Trawick, Charles Wilson (Cal) Trawick, III, Michael Murphy (Haydyn), Molly Murphy Crawford (Cory); twelve great-grandchildren, Jack Alexander, BJ Alexander, Blake Alexander, Sydney Daughtry, Marshall Daughtry, Charlee Daughtry, Malachi Daughtry, Branden Aultman, Dalton Arrington-Aultman, Lina Allen, Wyatt Reynolds and Fin Reynolds.


            Serving as active pallbearers will be her grandsons.


            The family would like to express their appreciation to caregivers Belinda Davis, Nina Kincey and Pam Knight, and also to Covenant Care Hospice for the loving care shown to Mrs. Trawick as caregivers.
