Mary Gautney Hawthorne of Geneva passed away at her home on Thursday, June 12, 2014 surrounded by her loving family.  She was 76.  A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, June 14, 2014 at Friendship Community Cemetery with Rev. Gene Hauser officiating and Pittman Funeral Home of Geneva directing. In lieu of flowers the family has requested donations be made to Mrs. Hawthorne’s burial fund at 1594 McDougald Street, Geneva, AL 36340.

Mrs. Hawthorne was born August 30, 1937 in Coffee County, Ala. to the late Clem L. Goodson and Vickie Barbree Goodson.  She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Vickie Melisa Gautney; grandson, Chase Andrew Aycock; and sister, Winnie Goodson.

Survivors include her three daughters, Rhonda Spears and husband, Eddie, Lisa Kilpatrick and husband, Treddy, all of Geneva, and Patricia Blocker and husband, Ronnie of Sanger, Texas; four sons, Robert Gautney and wife, Christy of Geneva, Bobby Gautney and wife, Amanda of Westville, Fla., Ronald Weeks and wife, Marie of Ozark, and Donald Weeks (Janella) of Midland City; brother, Frank Goodson and wife, Dorothy of Avon Park, Fla.; two sisters, Nell Starlipper of Lake Placid, Fla., and Merle Williams (Don) of Opp; and numerous nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great grandchildren.  The family would like to offer a special thank you to Brother Gene Hauser for his help in bringing Mary to know and accept her Lord and Savior.
