Mary Hatcher Griffin, age 83, of Enterprise, AL, passed away Wednesday, February 22, 2023 at Extendicare.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, February 25, 2023 at County Line Baptist Church with Dr. Danny Wiggins officiating.  Burial will follow in County Line Baptist Church Cemetery with Searcy Funeral Home and Crematory directing.  The family will receive friends beginning at 10:00 A.M. until service time.

Mary was an active member of County Line Baptist Church.

Mary graduated from Auburn University when it was known as Alabama Polytechnic Institute and loved all things Auburn.  She was a lifelong teacher having taught history and art which led to a love of traveling.  Mary traveled all around the world to see the places in art and history books.  She retired as a Psychometrist with Enterprise City Schools and enjoyed spending time with other retired teachers.

Mary was a charter member and past president of the Altrusa Club and loved passing out dictionaries to students in schools in Coffee County.  She was also a member of the Oscar Club after being honored to be the Enterprise Woman of the Year in 2006.

She was preceded in death by her parents “Sonny Boy” and Pearl Williams Hatcher formerly of Newton, AL.

Survivors include her husband, William Henry “Chick” Griffin, Enterprise, AL; several nieces, nephews, cousins and numerous friends.

The family would like to thank Madison Heights, Extendicare in Dothan and Gentiva Hospice for their loving care.
