Mary Kathryn “Cashie” McDaniel of Samson, AL went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, December 21, 2021. She was 75 years old.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 23, 2021 at the First Baptist Church in Samson with Rev. Danny Branch officiating. Burial will follow in the New Home Baptist Church Cemetery with Warren Holloway Ward Funeral Home of Geneva, AL directing. The family will receive friends at the church on Thursday beginning at 1:00 p.m.

Cashie was born in Geneva County, AL on June 8, 1946 to the late James Thomas and Edna Pearl Murphy Owens. Cashie loved her family, friends, and church family fiercely. She was always willing to help anyone in need and cared deeply for anyone that she came in contact with.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Wiley McDaniel, and a step son-in-law, Donald Davis.

She is survived by two daughters, Dana Herring of Samson, AL and Mandy Wilks (Tony) of Kinston, AL; two grandchildren, Amelia Kay Wilks, and Harrison Wilks both of Kinston, AL; three step-daughters, Melissa Davis of Samson, AL, Melinda Dean (Jerry) of Trussville, AL, and Michelle Oden (Scott) of Fairhope, AL; two sisters, Gail Reynolds (Lloyd) and Dorothy Jean Jones all of Samson, AL; one brother, James T. “T-Bone” Owens (Linda) of Samson, AL; special nieces and nephews, Regina Reynolds Tharpe (Keith) of Dothan, AL, Ginger Adkison Lee (Anthony) of Samson, AL, Shane Owens (Lisa) of Samson, AL, Michelle Owens Ward (Tim) of Geneva, AL, Nikki Owens Bowdoin of Samson, AL, and Jennifer Jones Faulk (Trey) of Samson, AL; and many special great nieces and nephews.
