Mrs. Mary Ree (Marie) Burdeshaw, a resident of Dothan, Alabama, died Friday, April 19, 2019 at her daughter’s residence following an extended illness. She was 94 years old.

Graveside services will be held Wednesday, April 24, 2019 at 4:30 p.m. at Gardens of Memory Cemetery (Hwy. 431 N.) with Mr. Clay Parrish officiating and Glover Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends following the graveside service.

Mrs. Burdeshaw will be placed in the parlor on Tuesday, and friends may visit at the funeral home from 9:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m.  

Mrs. Burdeshaw was born May 21, 1924 in Webb, Alabama, the daughter of the late Frank Marian and Mary Virginia Newsom Parker. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Muriel Parker and Jack Parker. Mrs. Burdeshaw was a charter member of Ridgecrest Baptist Church.

Mrs. Burdeshaw was also preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Charles Gerald Burdeshaw who died in 2009. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Carol and Mike Goodman; grandchildren and their spouses, Allyson and Clay Parrish, Russ and Jamie Goodman, Parker and Haley Goodman. Mrs. Burdeshaw is also survived by four great-grandchildren, Peyton Marie Parrish, Ann Clay Parrish, Jack Goodman and Charlie Goodman. Surviving nieces and nephews include Teresa Richards (Larry), Judy Detamore (Rip), Mike Parker (Cindy), and Ronald White (Debbie). Also surviving is a brother-in-law, Richard White.

Serving as active pallbearers are: Russ Goodman, Parker Goodman, Clay Parrish, Larry Richards, Cecil High and Frank Johnson.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Kitty Kottage at 131 Selma Street, Dothan, AL, 36301, (334) 797-4521. Because of her love of animals, Kitty Kottage was very dear to Mrs. Burdeshaw’s heart.
