A celebration of life will be held 4 p.m. on Saturday, June 25, 2022 in Sunset Funeral Home Chapel.The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.

Mary Sue Lenoir, a resident of Daleville, passed away on Monday, June 13, 2022, after her battle with cancer. She was 74 years old.


Sue was born on May 3, 1948 in Ozark, Alabama to the late Willie Murl Wells, SR. and Gracie Mae Owens Wells. Sue was a graduate of D.A. Smith High School where she was the Homecoming Queen. She would later attend a business school in Philadelphia and received her CNA license. Sue worked at various jobs throughout her life. She was a Case Manager for Volunteers of America. She then owned and operated Sue’s Daycare, LLC. Finally, she was able to retire from Flowers Hospital as a CNA. She always had a giving heart and loved to help those in need. Sue enjoyed attending church at Summer Hill Baptist Church as a member, going to the gym, and decorating her home.


Sue was preceded in death by her parents, Willie Murl Wells, SR. and Gracie Mae Owens Wells; her brother, Willie Murl Wells, Sr.; and her friend, Pearl Prather.


She leaves to cherish her memories her sons, Lester Moody IV and Daryl Moody; her grandchildren, Missy Moody, Chris Moody, Tekeal Outlaw,Courtnee Outlaw, Carlos Moody, and Sincere Messiah Jones; her siblings, Major Lewis Wells, Linda Faye Gainer, and Namon Lamar Wells; her nieces and nephews, Ricky (Bino) Wells, Renea James, Diana Neal, Jeffrey Tellis, Roderick Gainer, Marcus Wells, Pierre Wells, Jac’Keyia S. Wells, and Jason York; her friends, Ruth Faulk, Mr. & Mrs. Clifford Dozier ,Ruth Beard, Sammie Jean McLeod, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Hutchinson, and Karen Johnson; and a host of cousins from the Gray family and descendants of Robert & Clyde Gray.
