Mary Sue Woodham Baxley, age 87, a resident of Dothan, passed January 19, 2021.

Funeral services will be held  11:15 a.m. Friday, January 22, 2021  at Cottonwood First Baptist Church with Reverend Jimmy Bolin officiating. Burial will follow at Cottonwood City Cemetery with Glover Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Thursday at Glover Funeral Home Chapel. Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to Cottonwood First Baptist, 12702 Cottonwood Road, Cottonwood, AL 36320.

Mary was born April 25, 1933 in Dothan, Alabama to the late Samuel Bassett and Charity Elisabeth Ward Woodham and lived the early years of her life in Dothan. She was a 1952 graduate of Cottonwood High School and was an avid Cottonwood Bears football fan. She traveled extensively with her husband during his military career and was a homemaker. Mrs. Baxley was a member of Cottonwood First Baptist Church where she sang in the choir.

Mary is preceded in death by her parents, her husband James Baxley, two brothers, Earl Woodham and Robert Woodham.

Survivors include her son, Sam Baxley of Moriarty, New Mexico; daughter, Sarah LeGrand (Keith) of Dothan; seven grandchildren, Phillip Baxley (Caroline), Cristal Everett (Mike Ferrer), Cassandra Brock (Jordan), Christin Jodrey, Jay LeGrand, Jonathan LeGrand and Jenna LeGrand; four great-grandchildren.
