On August 28, 2022, Mary Suellen Donaldson of Enterprise, Alabama, left her earthly home following complications from a fall at age 82.  She is survived by her children Van Donaldson (Teresa), Enterprise, AL, Lyn Kelly (Bob), Eatonton, GA, and Obie Wayne Donaldson (Michele), Jacksonville, FL; grandchildren, Justin Donaldson (Jill), Kyle Donaldson (Sara), Kimberly Kelly, Elizabeth Kelly, Megan Kelly, Amanda Donaldson, Ben Donaldson, Addison Toledo; and great-grandchildren Emily, Madison, and Kennedy.  Her love flowed to a host of extended family and countless friends.

Born to Obie and Alline Ellis, she was a lifelong resident of Enterprise as well as a member of College Avenue Church of Christ.  She would graduate from Enterprise High School and later marry her devoted husband of 55 years, Gerald Donaldson.  Suellen was a tireless and passionate worker, this was seen through raising her family, serving the Lord, and her work as secretary at church and Wiregrass Christian Youth Camp.  Later she would return to study at Troy State University where she received her Master’s degree in Early Childhood Education.  Through her passion for children and teaching, she touched the lives of thousands at Fort Rucker Elementary School, where she taught for over 40 years.  After retirement, Suellen cared for Gerald, while volunteering as a substitute teacher at Wiregrass Christian Academy.  She enjoyed her hobbies of gardening, farming, crafting, spending time with her grandchildren, and lending a hand to all who needed.

Suellen was preceded in death by her beloved husband, parents and brothers, Ralph, Lewis, Wayne and Gerald Ellis.

On Wednesday, August 31, 2022, the family will host a visitation starting at 9:00 a.m. with the funeral service to honor and celebrate the life of Suellen at 10:00 a.m. at College Avenue Church of Christ, 211 W College Street, Enterprise, Alabama 36330.  Interment to follow at Meadowlawn Cemetery.
