Matthew Derrell Locke, a resident of Dothan, died early Monday morning, August 22, 2022, at his residence.

Private family services will be held at a later date.

Matthew was born May 12, 1972, in Eufaula to Wallace Derrell and Peggy Jean Parrish Locke. He later moved to Dothan where he lived most of his life. Matt received his Master’s Degree in Foreign Relations at Troy University and later taught history at Wallace Community College and Enterprise State College.

Matthew is predeceased by his mother, Peggy Jean Wells, and a brother, Michael Patrick Locke.

Survivors include a son, Jacob Adam Locke of Dothan; a sister-in-law, Jennifer Locke of Headland; his father, Wallace Locke of Eufaula; his step-father, Bobby Wells of Dothan; nieces, Allison Locke and Ashley McPhail of Headland; a nephew, Alex Locke of Headland.
