Matthew John Henry Bright

Matthew John Henry Bright, 33, of Blakely, Ga., passed away Friday, July 15, 2022, at USA Medical Center in Mobile, Ala.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 5:00 pm EST on Tuesday, July 26, 2022 at Southside Baptist Church in Blakely, GA with Greg Floyd officiating.

Matthew was born on October 24, 1988, in Pittsfield, Mass., the son of Jennifer and James D. (Bubba) Bright. He attended Early County schools until 11th grade, and then graduated from Georgia Youth Military Academy in Hinesville, Ga. In high school, he loved baseball and played in the Band of Blue. Matthew was a kind young man who battled addiction much of his life. Throughout his struggles he always made it known that his family was important to him and that he loved them.

He was preceded in death by maternal grandparents Donald Molleur and Judy Francis Molleur, paternal grandfather, James A. Bright, and his younger brother Timothy Ricky Spires.

Other than his parents, he is survived by his daughter, MacKenzie Bright of Johnstown, N.Y., his siblings, Andrew Bright of Blakely, Amber Garrison (Hunter), Kayla Spires, Kyndall Bright, Konnor Bright (D.J), all of Dothan, Ala., Ryan Bright of Blakely and half sisters Kaylee Gwozdz and Andrea LaBombard or Johnstown, N.Y., grandparents Chris Molleur of Blakely, Myra Bright of Midland City, Ala., and Victor and Sandra Gwozdz of Johnstown, N.Y., as well as numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
