Mattie Ruth Simpson Brown of Geneva, AL passed away on Sunday, September 17, 2023. She was 91 years old.

 Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 19, 2023, in the chapel of Warren Holloway Ward Funeral Home in Geneva, AL with Minister Harry O. Adkinson officiating. Burial will take place on Wednesday, September 20, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. in the Lystra Baptist Church Cemetery in Baileyton, AL with Warren Holloway Ward Funeral Home of Geneva, AL directing. The family will receive friends at Warren Holloway Ward Funeral Home in Geneva, AL on Tuesday, September 19, 2023, beginning at 9:00 a.m.

 Mattie was born in Randolph County, AL on August 26, 1932 to the late John Wiley and Ola Mae Kellum Simpson.

 In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one son, Wesley Brown (Lisa); stepson, Greg Alberson; son-in-law, Steve Miller; two husbands, Jackson C. Brown, and Bill Alberson; five brothers, Bud, Ted, Otis, Gaines, and Manson Simpson; two sisters, Lola B. Johnson and an Infant sister.

 She is survived by three children, Sherry Akridge, Elese Miller, and Dennis Brown; stepdaughter, Tammy Hawthorn (David); grandchildren, Donna Brown, Melissa Lambert, Lezley Bryant, Veronica Taylor (Steve), Victoria Phillips (Wilbur), Billy Coffey (Mellisa), Stephen Miller, Kimberly Miller, Denny Brown (Julie), Marty Brown (Paige) Tracy Johnson, Fred Alberson (Amanda), Eric Alberson (Amy), Lee Alberson, Josh Sewell, and Greyson Alberson; 33 great grandchildren, seven great-great grandchildren and two on the way.  

 The family would like to thank SouthernCare Hospice and their team members, Windy Cluassen, Janary Dawkins, Brittany Mills, Jabe Fincher, Kathlean Humphrey, Terri Lett, and Regina for the devoted love and care they provided.
