ABBEVILLE…Maudie Pearl Starling, a resident of the Fort Gaines Health & Rehab and a former resident of Abbeville, died Friday afternoon, November 3, 2023, in the Health Care Facility.  She was 88.

            Mrs. Starling was born and reared in the Edwin Community of Henry County, daughter the late Loyd Needham Turner and Jesse Lois Money Turner. She formerly lived in Atlanta, Georgia before returning to Henry County where she lived the majority of her life. Mrs. Starling was of the Baptist faith. She was preceded in death by a sister, Frances Halley and three brothers, Buck Turner, David Turner, and Frankie O’Neal.

            No services are planned at this time. Holman-Abbeville Mortuary and Cremations is in charge of arrangements.

            Surviving relatives include two sons: Gerald (Peggy) Faircloth of Tennessee and Bobby (Tracie) Faircloth of North Carolina. Three sisters: Ann Gachet Skipperville, Marie Strevey, Gulf Breeze, Florida, Dorothy Jean (James) Marcum, Columbus, Ohio; two brothers: John (Shirley) Turner, Edwin Community and Lewis (Stephanie) Turner, Hampton, Georgia; three grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. Numerous nieces and nephews.
