Mr. Max Larue Mims of Samson, Alabama passed away Monday, November 7, 2011.  He was 57.


 


Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, November 10, in the chapel of Sorrells Funeral Home in Geneva with Rev. Jimmy Eddins officiating.  Burial will follow in the Shady Grove Assembly of God cemetery with Sorrells Funeral Home of Geneva directing.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday, November 9, from 5 until 7 p.m.


 


Max was born November 2, 1954, in Geneva County to the late Glen and Ethel Louise White Mims.  He was a very kind, gentle person and ministered to people in several different ways.  He was a member of the Samson First Assembly of God Church.


 


In addition to his parents, two brothers, Winford and Bobby Ray Mims, preceded him in death.


 


Survivors include two brothers: Emmitt Mims (Susan), Chancellor, Anthony Mims (Janie), Geneva; sister-in-law, Sue Mims, Daleville; eight nephews: Michael, Jason, Shannon, Jake, Shelby, Willie, Tony and Robert Mims; three nieces: Estella Mims, Stacy Engram and Hope Edwards; several great nieces and nephews; two aunts: Johnnie Merle Ausley and Jeanette McAdams; special cousin, Lillian Warr, Samson; special friend, Glen Melton; other extended family and friends.
