SKIPPERVILLE…Melanie Amber Dorrill, a resident of the Skipperville Community, near Ariton, died Tuesday evening, October 5, 2022. She was 38.

A gathering of family and friends will be held from 1:00 until 3:00 P.M. Saturday, October 8, 2022, in the Fuqua Bankston Funeral Home Chapel. The family asks that everyone wear their favorite University of Alabama gear and jeans.

Melanie was born October 8, 1984, in Ozark, Alabama and was a graduate of G.W. Long High School. She was the biggest University of Alabama Football fan, “Roll Tide”. Melanie loved strawberry cheesecake and was very crafty. She loved to color and could dress up real pretty for a night out, but she loved her blue jeans and cowboy boots too. Melanie was a country girl through and through, enjoying riding four wheelers, getting muddy, and most of all hanging out with her friends and family. Above all, Melanie loved her kids more than anything. She was preceded in death by her granddaddy, J.C. Johnson and Poppa Larry Ezell.

Surviving relatives include her daughter, Haley Deel; her son, Travis Deel; momma and daddy, Joan and George Dorrill; sister, Melissa Dorrill; nephew, Chris Dorrill; niece, Cherish Martin; Grandmommie, Ruby Ezell; grandmother and grandfather, Vivian and Rex Dorrill; uncles, Anthony Johnson (Keisha), Allen Dorrill (Audrey), and Daniel Dorrill; cousins that were like sisters, Angel RaRobyn and Nikkie Noodle; numerous cousins and special friends.
