A celebration of Melissa’s life will be held at 3 pm on Saturday, March 4, 2023 in Sunset Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Andy Wood and Rev. Terry Howard officiating. Melissa will be laid to rest in Gardens of Memory Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home of Friday evening from 4-6 pm.
Melissa Lynn Corbin, a resident of Newton, passed away on Wednesday, March 1, 2023 at her residence. She was 52 years old.
Melissa was born in Dothan, Alabama on January 18, 1971 to Max Ray and Glenda Sue Corbin and has resided here all of her life. She attended Emmanuel Christian School and graduated from Halley Turner School. Melissa never missed an opportunity to cheer on her favorites two football teams, Auburn Tigers and Dallas Cowboys! She loved Christmas and enjoyed collecting holiday Barbies. Melissa, more than anything, loved her family, many precious memories were made around the dinner table with them all.
Survivors include her parents, Max and Sue Corbin; her aunts, Levene (Kenneth) Johnson and Melba Beasley; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
