Obituary: Melvin Baker

Melvin “Bubba” Braxton Baker of Enterprise, Alabama passed away Tuesday, October 31, 2023 at his residence. He was 78.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 pm on Saturday, November 4, 2023 in the chapel of Sorrells Funeral Home & Crematory in Enterprise with Pastor Paul Alexander officiating. Burial will follow in Meadowlawn Cemetery in Enterprise, Alabama with Sorrells Funeral Home & Crematory of Enterprise directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday evening, November 3, 2023 from 6pm until 8pm.

Melvin was born September 3, 1945 in Alabama to the late Harson and Nadine Medders Baker. In addition to his parents, his wife, Barbara Elaine Baker, two sisters, Juanita Faye Baker and Carolyn Baker; one sister-in-law Doris Baker; stepmother, Artry Baker all preceded him in death.

Survivors include his children: Kent Baker (Katrina), Barry Baker (Melissa), Michele Grissett (Phil); brothers, Ronnie Baker (Linda), Harry Wendell Baker; grandchildren: Jonathan and Kirsten Wiggins, Andy and Rachel Baker, Ashley Baker, Rick Grissett, Jacob Grissett; great-grandchildren: Madeline, McCoy, Emma, Brody, Caiden.
