Meredith Bedsole Capshaw of Geneva passed away on Monday, October 14, 2019. She was 79 years old.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, October 19, 2019 in the chapel of Warren Holloway Ward Funeral Home. Burial will follow in New Home Baptist Church Cemetery with Warren Holloway Ward Funeral Home of Geneva directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, October 18, 2019 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m.

Ms. Capshaw was born on July 31, 1940 in Samson, Alabama. Meredith loved to go dancing with her longtime companion, Nick. Meredith was also an amazing cook and a very strong-willed woman. She taught English at many of the local schools in the Wiregrass. She retired after 25 years of teaching.

Meredith is preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Eddie Brewer; and one sister, Barbara Fountain.

She is survived by her longtime companion, Nick Maddox; nephew, Joel “Buster” Early (Yvonne); cousins, Kenneth and Joe Avant; two great nieces, Deborah Pearo, and Diana Lane; one great nephew, David Early; two great-great nieces, Samantha and Stephanie Pearo.
