Merlinda Sue Woods

Merlinda Sue Woods, a resident of Dothan, Al, went home to be with her Lord and savior on Friday, June 10, 2022, at her home. She was 70 years old.

Merlinda was born on October 12, 1951 in Headland, AL. She was a graduate of R.B. Hudson High School in Selma, AL. She was saved through our Lord and savior Jesus Christ, and served her church, Jesus First Church, of Headland, AL. She was married to Lonzie Wood Jr. of Newville, AL for 42 wonderful years.

She was a strong beautiful and blessed woman. She was very hardworking and employed at Globe Motors for 25 years. Merlinda loved family, her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She enjoyed going to her grandson’s football games, shopping, and spending time with family. Her heart was full of love and would do anything that she could for people. She will be truly missed by her husband, siblings, children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends.

Merlinda is preceded in death by her mother, Evelyn Butler, and her father, Albert Jones.

She leaves to cherish her memories her siblings, Rubynell Brown, Verdell Brown, Donnie Jones, and Bruce Jones; her children, Katrina Condry, Herman Lee Johnson, Darrius (Jan) Johnson, and Keedrein Woods; her grandchildren, Brittany Johnson, Marvin Bush, Jr., Chevalie Condry, Darrius Johnson, Jr., Dylan Johnson, Isabella Johnson, and Delaney Johnson; 9 great grandchildren; and a host of uncles, aunts, Cousins, nephews, nieces, and friends.

Serving as pallbearers will be Marvin Bush, Jr., Chevalie Condry, Christopher Jackson, Julius Brown, Jr., Larry Brown, and Kenneth Morris.
