Date of Service: Funeral services will be held at 1 pm on Friday, December 13, 2019 in Sunset Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Scott Thompson officiating. Interment will follow in Woodlawn Memory Garden Cemetery in Ozark, AL. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the services on Friday at the funeral home.

Michael Anthony Snell, a resident of Ozark, passed away on Sunday, December 8, 2019 at a local hospital. He was 62.


Funeral services will be held at 1 pm on Friday, December 13, 2019 in Sunset Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Scott Thompson officiating. Interment will follow in Woodlawn Memory Garden Cemetery in Ozark, AL. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the services on Friday at the funeral home.


Mr. Snell was born on June 27, 1957 in Ozark, Alabama and lived there the early years of his life. He graduated from Skipperville High School and entered the work force while also attending technical school. Mr. Snell worked at Fort Rucker for over 30 years. He loved spending time with family, especially his grandchildren. Mr. Snell was compassionate and giving, he was strong-willed, there was never a job he couldn’t do. He enjoyed landscaping, wood working, and loved to watch Alabama play football.


Mr. Snell is preceded in death by his parents, Horace and Ruby Spivey Snell and his brother, Horace Snell, Jr.


Survivors include his wife, Vicki Snell; his sons, Kevin (Melissa) Snell and Brandon (Adana) Snell; his grandchildren, Hadley, Harper, and Baker Anthony; and other family members, Ricky (Jackie) Davis, Tori and Lynn Watkins, Jean Griggs, Leota Miller, Delane Blackburn, Martha (Vernie) Burroughs, Betty Cochran, June Smith, Wanda (Larry) Wright, Melba (Hal) Cox,; and several aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins.
