Michael D. Garrett

Michael D. Garrett, a resident of Dothan, AL passed away on Tuesday, August 10, 2021 at a local hospital. He was 67.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, August 13, 2021 at 1:00 pm in Sunset Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Jeff Ross and Bro. Tommy White officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home for 1 hour prior to the service. The family requests all attending the service wear masks and follow the COVID-19 protocol. Flowers will be accepted or memorial donations may be made to Pathway Baptist Church, 3551 Flowers Chapel Road, Dothan, AL 36305.

Mike was born on December 1, 1953. He was an ASE certified master mechanic for over 20 years in Dothan, AL. He retired to take care of his grandchildren and become the greatest “PaPaw” around. Mike was a devoted family man who enjoyed attending Pathway Baptist Church, tinkering on cars and spoiling his grandkids.

He was preceded in death by his father, Lester Garrett; and his mother-in-law, Mary Fuller.

Survivors include his wife of 49 years Teresa Garrett; his daughter, Amanda (JR) Garrett Chandler; his son, David (Michele) Garrett; his grandchildren, Will Skinner, John Skinner, Audrey Garrett and Luke Garrett; his mother, Alice Garrett; his father-in-law, Don Fuller; his sisters, Debra Garrett, Pam (Kurt) Welte and Jennifer (Ashley) Hill; his cherished nieces and nephews, Alexis Mock, Michaela Eddins, Jacob Hill, Caleb Hill, Sarah Beth Hill, Hannah Hill and Kailey Gilley; and even more great nieces and nephews.
