Mildred Louise Smith, a resident of Dothan, passed away on January 23, 2020. She was 71.
Funeral services will be held at 10 am on Monday, January 27, 2020 in Sunset Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday from 9-10 am. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to her children.
Mildred was born on November 18, 1948 in Atlanta, GA to Walter and Mildred Nichols. During her free time, Mildred enjoyed doing her crossword puzzles, gardening in her flowerbed, fishing, and spending time with her family. She will be dearly missed by everyone who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 49 years, Jimmie Smith; her two brothers; and one sister.
Mildred is survived by her son, Thomas Smith; her daughter, Elizabeth “Liz” Smith; her special K-9 companion, Peaches; and a host of other family members including several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A special thank you to the staff and caretakers on the 7th floor at Southeast Health for all the love and support they gave to the family during this difficult time.
