MILDRED PELHAM

SHORTERVILLE, AL… Mildred Pelham, a resident of Extendicare Health Center in Dothan, Alabama, formerly of Shorterville, Alabama, passed away Saturday morning, March 12, 2022, at a Dothan hospital. She was 96.

Funeral services will be held 1:00 P.M. Monday, March 14, 2022 at Wright Funeral Home & Crematory Chapel with Reverend George Bryan officiating. Burial will follow in the Abbeville Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:00 until 1:00 P.M. prior to the service at Wright Funeral Home & Crematory.

Mrs. Pelham was born in the Lawrenceville Community of Henry County, Alabama to the late Elbert Hackett Linn and Mamie Lowman Linn. She lived her entire childhood in the Lawrenceville Community. She received a B.S. Degree in Business Administration from Auburn University. She was retired as County Executive Director from ASCS office in Dale County. In earlier years she was employed by the Henry County ASCS office. She was a member of the Abbeville United Methodist Church. She lived her entire adult life in the Barnes Community, near Shorterville, Alabama.

Along with her parents she was also preceded in death by her husband, Tom W. Pelham, Sr.; her daughter, Jeannie Pelham; her sister, Elon Spurlock; and her brothers, Walter D. Linn and Albert H. Linn.

Leaving to cherish her memories is her son, Tom W. Pelham, Jr. (Pam); her grandchildren, Shelley Scarborough (Brandon), Tyler Pelham (Annslee), and Chase Pelham (Kaylee); her seven great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Serving as active pallbearers will be Tyler Pelham, Chase Pelham, Lynn Brookins, Pete Barnes, Henry Smith, and Roger Wells.
