Millard Wayne Smith of Bonifay, FL passed away on Monday, August 1, 2022 at his home. He was 80 years old.


 Funeral services will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 4, 2022 in the chapel of Warren Holloway Ward Funeral Home in Geneva with Rev. Donald Gainey officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday beginning at 5:00 p.m.


In lieu of flowers, the family request memorial contributions be made to Shiloh Baptist Church Missions 873 N. Shiloh Rd., Hartford, AL 36344.


 Mr. Smith was born in Valdosta, GA on December 30, 1941 to the late Millard Finley and Edna Mae Sowell Smith. Mr. Smith worked and retired from Ft. Rucker after 33 years of dedicated service.  “Milli-Watt”, as he was affectionately known by his friends at work was an avid outdoorsman who loved fishing and camping.


 In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by one sister, Maxine Frazier, and one brother, Owen Smith.


 Mr. Smith is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 59 years, Catherine Smith of Bonifay, FL; three children, Teresa Baker (Jeff) of Westville, FL, Buddy Smith (Nancy) of Columbia, KY, and Gilda Kelly (Curt) of Hartford, AL; grandchildren, Melissa Ashby (Pete), John Wells, Billy Joe Strickland (Keisha), Brandi Reid (Matt), Brandon Baker (Justin), Chloe Wright (Austin), and Bryce Kelly; great grandchildren, Hunter, Caroline, Makayley, Thomas, Bradley, Avery, and Holden.
